A Nottingham man will serve at least one month in prison for causing one of the most "bizarre" DUI crashes officials say they have ever seen.

Thomas Candler Felts was convicted of giving Amish teens beer and yelling "Rumspringa" at them before crashing into their buggy with his car at a Turkey Hill store on Route 272 in August.

The Lancaster District Attorney's Office said Candler Felt pulled into the parking and began talking to the boys about Rumspringa. That is when he showed the teens his pistol and gave them cans of Yuengling Lager Beer.

Later that night, he passed the teens in their buggy driving a red Dodge car, screamed "Rumspringa" and then stopped his car abruptly, causing the buggy to hit the back of the Dodge.

No one was seriously injured.

The DA's Office say the man's blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was .126 percent.

He was ordered to serve 30 days to 6 months in prison and a year of probation for the misdemeanor DUI and furnishing alcohol to minors conviction.
